How do artists use color to define feeling?
Day 1: Start with your self portrait= visual representation of a person
Decide on a time/memory/experience to depict *filled with a feeling
Draw your face using shapes- organic and geometric shapes. These are observational drawings so look closely at yourself.
Draw lightly with pencil from your tip of your head to your shirt collar- proportions= the relation between parts of a whole
Day 2: Decide on the color that best matches the feeling you associate with that memory
Color Mixing Activity- pick a color, find a partner
Demonstration- mixing paint and clean up- jobs explained
Day 3: Finish sketch & Begin painting background and large shapes ***Check In Day 4: Detail painting- must have at least 6 colors on painting (halfway mark) Day 5: Finishing up Day 6: Artist Statements & Self Evaluations & Share Outs
